DSP Radiation Pattern Controller
This project requires investigation into the use of a line array of speakers controlled by a DSP to form pre-determined far field radiation patterns. Interested students should be strong in mathematics including vector calculus and have some experience of programming embedded systems.
Beam-forming techniques and radiation pattern control are used to correct acoustic flaws in some buildings, to allow some auditoriums to comply with some licensing regulations or just to demonstrate particular acoustic effects.
